Be a better job candidate
Learn what works and what doesn’t from people who actually hire people.
There’s no shortage of advice from career coaches, gurus, ninjas and consultants who haven’t actually hired or interviewed anyone in years. Here at Career Cantina you’ll get real tips from real hiring managers and learn what they look for in applications, cover letters, resumes, interviews, follow ups, social media interactions and more.
About Career Cantina
Hi, I’m Steve Patrizi, founder of Career Cantina, where I share what I’ve learned as a hiring manager to help people be better job candidates.
Over the past 25 years I’ve hired hundreds of people and interviewed thousands of job candidates at LinkedIn, Microsoft, Pinterest, & The Wall Street Journal, and I’ve seen the good, the bad, and the ugly when it comes to how candidates approach the interview process.
Since a lot of job candidates have never been on the “hiring” side of the table, it’s not always obvious what’s really going on or what hiring managers are really looking for during the process. And while there’s tons of content from career “gurus” and coaches, a lot of those people haven’t hired anyone in a really long time—if ever—and so a lot of their advice is really high level.
That’s why I started Career Cantina. I’m sharing advice as an actual hiring manager, and interviewing other hiring managers who will share their advice and tips for how to be the best possible candidate.
Let’s do this!
